Welcome to my content marketing portfolio. My career in this field has been multifarious, and I've got the various hats to prove it. I've written thousands of words on the philanthropic endeavors of major universities and the benefits of ambulatory anesthesiology, penned scripts for spots that have aired on national TV, generated ample cross-channel social copy for a marathon run on the Great Wall of China, and handled every aspect of podcast production, from planning to recording to promotion.
I'd love to help you connect with your desired audience through engaging, honest, useful content that showcases your voice and values. Email me at johntolley1891@gmail.com or use the contact form link above.
The Scope
For Ambulatory Management Solutions, a Chicago-based provider of ambulatory anesthesiology services, we built a full-service media brand, The Scope by AMS, featuring AMS as the presenting sponsor. Rather than focus on promotion of the business itself, we outline challenges the healthcare industry is facing and how the work they - and companies like them - do will be a game-changer in terms of value-based care.
This project included a full brand build, creation and management of social media channels (Twitter and LinkedIn), blog writing, internal and external interviews, video production, and podcast production.
Below are examples of the written and social work I did on The Scope.
To help the Big Ten Network's tell the non-sports stories of impact, innovation, and inspiration coming out of the 14 Big Ten Conference universities, they engaged with us to create a video series that aired on national TV (BTN, ESPN, Fox Sports) and online. But as we could only produce three videos per university every year, we complimented that coverage with articles and social media posts and videos.
As BTN LiveBIG's managing editor, I oversaw all aspects on content planning, editing, and social media copywriting. In addition to my own writing, I managed a pool of freelancers, sourcing, assigning, and editing 10 to 15 externally produced articles per month.
Below is a selection of articles and social work I did for BTN LiveBIG.
(Apologies for some of the article formatting. The Big Ten Network maintains the website and has clearly not prioritized updates for this section.)
