What A Girl Wants

Hello,
Wonder no longer, for this is where question meets answer and the two defeat fact. I am a generalist living in Chicago, where my every indulgence is met, my every appetite sated. My journey in Chicago began, as Joseph Campbell would describe it, as a hero's journey, but along the way became a journey to the center of my anima. And, there, in my liquid nickel center, I found my joie de vivre. My passion lies in writing, eating, story-telling, writing about eating, telling stories about writing, eating stories, and lying. And Chicago history. And trains.
My training is in the communicative arts. I graduated cum laude from DePaul University with a bachelor's degree in communication studies. In addition, I hold a minor in creative writing. I have written for the Tasting Table, the Big Ten Network (weird?) and McSweeney's Internet Tendency, as well as for the defunct websites SCTripwire.com (for the Second City) and the original GirlsWithInsurance.com (where I was co-founder and editor). I've also indulged my love of food by way of a few of industry jobs, from bussing tables at Cracker Barrel to pouring those beers to high-end clientele. But all the experience in the world doesn't amount to hill of beans unless you have an Asherah of Athirat, and I have two just to be on the safe side.
Should you or anyone you know have any further information about me, please write to Unsolved Mysteries, P.O. Box 11449, Burbank, California 91510-1449. Or, on second thought, just write to me. Unsolved Mysteries hasn't been returning my calls since they found out I lied about having that chair Bigfoot sold to my friend Teddy.
Silence,
John Tolley
